Clone your OS X Drive Simply and Quickly - Carbon Copy Cloner.



Carbon Copy Cloner is an Application I've been using for years, it has just celebrated its 10th anniversary


Forget using just time machine backups that take hours to restore, clone your hard drive daily, if anything ever goes wrong with your current drive you'll have instant access to a bootable clone of your system.


If you would like to make a clone of your hard drive and keep a bootable backup, Carbon Copy Cloner makes it super easy to to do and schedule daily to keep all your files backed up, follow below to setup a daily cloned backup.


Step 1: Download Carbon Copy Cloner.


Step 2: Copy Carbon Copy Cloner to your applications folder:


Step 3: Go to your application folder and open Carbon Copy Cloner.


Step 4: Agree to the license agrement:


Step 5: Select your system drive under Source, in my case its named "Lion", then select your backup drive under Destination, I've it named "Clone Drive":


Step 6: Click Clone at the bottom and it will begin copying files to your backup drive, if you would like to schedule this task select it at the bottom before cloning and then choose your preferred settings:
